My J, for those snubby times. A no-lock 638 with CT grips.

Picked up this Galco Stow n' Go when I bought the gun, about seven years ago, as a placeholder until I got something better. It might not be the coolest holster on the block, but I've felt no need to buy anything else. The gun gets mostly carried in PT and lounge around type clothes.

Same gun without the holster. I keep a gun beside or on me all the time...even drinking coffee and watching the morning news.

That's not rough. That's good, honest, wear to be displayed with pride, I say.

Agreed, I love firearms like that.

If you ever decide to sell it, please let me get in line as a buyer.

Come to think of it, my 442 is a bit beat up too.

A bit finish worn as well. Formerly my only carry gun, now relegated to BUG only.

I shoot the G26 better at speed, and faster, though the 642 is very accurate. This is the latest, and likely last, Jframe replacement experiment - unless I decide I simply must have a G42 as well (my wife's choice). The G26 holds 11 rounds vs 5, and can reload with anything from 10 to 33 rounds in less time than it takes to put 2 to 5 in the 642. And it is a much better fit for my long fingers and thumbs.

A part of me says I should just move it along, as keeping a less useful tool is not efficient. But it goes hard to sell a pistol you've carried daily for more than a decade. And it does suit some carry methods and needs well.

This was my first off-duty gun purchase .... a no-dash Model 36 bought in '78 for the pricey (relatively speaking) sum of @ $180, IIRC.

Nice. Mine as well. I think I paid $199 at Jovino's in NYC back in 1983 for my blue steel version.

(I foolishly traded it in at Lou's Gun Shop (Hialeah, FL) back in 1995 or 1996 and have lived to regret it. Lou's was and is the local cop shop.)

There's nothing civil about this war.
