Those are the frame mounted studs that hold the trigger and cylinder stop.

My bad! That's what happens when you work a 12 hour tour with multiple arrests and reply to a thread when you should be sleeping!!!
As 41magfan replied, correctly, those are the frame mounted studs...

    ...and so it begins.
642-1 (no lock), 2014 according to spent casing envelope
It just so happens I have 5 135 +P GDHP's in the box from when I loaded my mom's 642 + her speed loader + made her shoot a couple cylinders.
    Already ordered:
    Mika pocket holster
    Tuff strips
    CT LG-405 Lasergrips
    .38 SP Snap Caps
    250rds AE 130 FMJ
    50rds Winchester RA38B

I don't intend for this to be a huge round count gun. It's not replacing my G17 or anything, but for occasional NPE carry, this should work:

You're a pretty fair smart fella for an apprentice from GA!

I think you're gonna enjoy your new acquisition. (I'll be heading out to the mailbox down the mountain with my 642-1 in its DSG holster in just a bit.)

Heh... I was just about to post and say "way to totally kit up, dude with most excellent taste...the only thing to add is a DSG..."

So: way to kit up, dude with most excellent taste. If you want to borrow my orange and white sharpie paint pens, hit me up. Otherwise, you’re a groupthink god of the j-frame lifestyle crew (j-crew, only less sissy ads and stores).

We have UPS stores around here, as well

We have a UPS store in town about 4 miles from here...but my mailbox is down the mountain on the main road. A ten minute walk or so each way.

Trust me, it's a pain in the ass when you're not in the mood or it's snowing or raining. (I don't like driving just to get the mail.)

USPS rules prevented having mailboxes on our gravel roads due to width or some other excuse. Doesn't stop UPS or FedEx or anyone else from coming by and delivering.

Hey, if you're gonna do it, do it right! Thanks for the paint pen offer, I actually tagged along with my wife to Hobby Lobby last weekend and dropped way too much $$ on fancy paint pens. I was like, "orange, blue, white, lime green, red." She thinks I've lost my mind...shhhhh, don't tell her!
