Pretty much always have an M&P 340 in the pocket to back up my primary carry gun, or as an around the house gun.
Just a Hairy Special Snowflake supply clerk with no field experience, shooting an Asymetric carbine as a Try Hard. Snarky and easily butt hurt. Favorite animal is the Cape Buffalo....likely indicative of a personality disorder.

On duty or off, there is a 642 in my left front pocket. I also have a spare in a safe in case it ends up in the shop or an evidence room.

I abandoned the J-frame a little over a year ago in favor of a PPS and a six round flush fit magazine as my pocket/BUG. It's always with me.

Down the road from Quantrill's big raid.
I've used a 642 as a BUG for over a decade. Sometimes using an LCR now.

Would you be willing to expand a bit more on the LCR? How you like it, etc?

ETA: as compared to a j frame

I carried a J frame of one flavor or another for 17 years. The last 4 years or so has been an LCR .357 Because I can see the LCR sights better and I can run it just a little better than a J frame.

Interested in this. Reviews I've seen vary wildly.

Carried a J frame as an on-duty BUG for pushing a couple decades ... yeah, I'm old. It went into evidence and sat there for a l-o-n-g time, so I ended up switching to a 9mm Shield. While I eventually got the J frame back, I stayed with the Sheild.

I am as well. Especially the sights. My 442 front sight is hard to pick up quickly.
