+1 on the Obake - excellent sheath/cord design makes it extremely flexible for defensive carry.

I like the Achi for the grip and size. I'll have to check it out.

I have an Obake and like it quite well.

I recently picked up the CRKT Pangolin. It has a short but stout blade. The sheath is great and comes with an easy open tek-lok style belt clip. It might be a bit too bulky for what OP is looking for, but I've really liked it.

That is pretty close to what I am looking for. Short and stout. I like the jimping and the finger guard shape with decent looking scales that may be able to be removed and replaced with 550 cord or Obake style wrap. The tek lok clip seems removable with the remaining sheath fairly thin.

I didn't want to oversell it, but it really is an awesome fixed blade for the price. It has quickly become one of my favorite knives. The factory edge has been great so far, the blade has a large belly, and it has a really gritty powder coating. The handle scales are good, though it would be nice if they were removable, just for that option of wrapping with paracord or whatever. The finger guard is a nice plus as well.

I bought this as a little summer knife. I like it but it doesn't really do anything that the other knifes mentioned won't do
How do you like the handle shape?
