Thread: 50 rounds a day.

    50 rounds a day.

If you had 50 rounds a day for practice what would you work on? The only drawbacks are. The range is limited to about 10 yards. It’s indoors and movement is limited as are multiple targets. Drawing, mag changes, weak hand only, strong had only, and rapid fire are allowed.

Dot Torture is the first thing which comes to mind.

For some reason, your thread title made me think of a P-F version of a Save The Children ad : "For just 50 rounds a day...."

I probably wouldn't do dot torture. At least not with all 50 rounds. You can accomplish a lot of the same benefits of dot torture with dry fire.

If I only had 50 live fire rounds I'd want to use that to make the most of recoil control. I'd probably be doing variations of Larry Vickers/Ken Hackathorn Tests.

It wouldn’t have to be the same thing every day. Maybe Dot Torture on Mondays and then something different on Tuesdays and so on.

I would be able to put two targets side by side about three feet apart.

Can you use a second gun, or are you restricted to a specific caliber that would prevent that?

I would definitely incorporate drills with my BUG(s), weak hand only, other weak hand only, and malfunction clearance if that would be covered under mag changes.

Just my very, very humble opinion. Good luck to you, and stay safe.

Dot torture is a decent warm up for working fundamentals, but I wouldn't burn 50 rounds every day on it.

When I'm constrained to an indoor range, I like to work the following drills:

    Frank Garcia Dot drill http://pistol-training.com/drills/fr...cias-dot-drill

I do a variation of the Garcia dot drill above that I believe helps me shoot plates better. I'll shoot 1 shot at each of the 6 circles almost like I'm running a plate rack. Try to go 1 for 1 on all 6.

    1,2,R,3 Drill - http://pistol-training.com/drills/1-2-r-3

Four Aces Drill (2-R-2) at distances from 5 to 35 yds

Bill Drill - Change up target difficulty and distance. I will run these out to 35+ yards, sometimes using partial targets.

5x5 Drill http://pistol-training.com/drills/5x5-skill-test (I will also add an extra string to do 5 WHO)

Half and Half drill - http://pistol-training.com/drills/half-half

In addition to what GIO posted, this is a classic. Spilt the reps up over 2 days.
