    Repurposed S&W m13

So there I was, riding the couch, rethinking the 38sp I've been carrying as a field cartridge. I'd like a little more power and range but I don't want to load up some hot +p+ ammo, then get those rounds in my d frame colts. Yep, back to the 357 and since I sold my 357's, I was back to looking at gunbroker.

There it was a beater m13 at a beater m10 price. So I bid the minimum and got it. Once in my hands I noticed it had been buffed, reblued, returned to the states by century arms. Unknown before bidding because of the bad photos and poor description but in excellent mechanical condition. Like I said the price was right.

Since I want something a little more concealable.....

This is what I ended up with.

A good compromise for a field and town gun.

    Or riding the couch.

    What front sight is that?
I had an ER nurse in a class. I noticed she kept taking all head shots. Her response when asked why, "'I've seen too many people who have been shot in the chest putting up a fight in the ER." Point taken.

It's a 1911 front sight I had in the parts box.

    Does it hit POA/POI?

    That is very spiffy!

If I may ask, how did you create the front sight dovetail?

Thank you for the pics, and good luck with your new pistol.

Not tested, yet, but the 1911 front sight is the same height as the original m13 front sight. The original front sight was poa/poi with 158gr bullets. So the original front sight was measured with dial calipers and the 1911 front sight was installed to those measurements. I may have to adjust the height since the bullet will now have less dwell time in the barrel.

I'll measure the front sight height if you want.
