I really despise FDE as a super popular industry color. Brown is ugly and lame and the only reason it's popular is we have a war going on in a desert.
Black, battleship grey, OD... so many less poop looking options.

I like those choices you name...but I also like "coyote" when it's not flat, dark, ugly. A couple of my holsters from DSG come to mind as representative of a nice shade of "coyote".
