    Gun rescue

I rescued this 27-3 from a pawn shop the other day. It was dirty and rusty. It also had rubber on it, changed the tires to walnut.

    Gorgeous.

I'm debating picking up a project like this under similar conditions - do you mind sharing how much you have into it total, and initial purchase price, to give me a better idea what I'm getting myself into?

Under $600. I gave $75 for the walnut.

I need to hire you as a consultant when I go pawnshopping! I'll even spring for the BBQ, too.

That's a great pistol, and it's found an awesome home. May it bring you and your family many years of enjoyment.

    Dang, well done!

Your rescue project looks better than my poor guns that came to me in new or like new shape. The dust is brutal on blueing.

Outstanding find and rescue! There aren't many of those left and it's about the best thing S&W ever did. Clean it up and if you need help with a detail strip, let me know. I loathe target triggers and hammers on working guns, but that's my preference.
