I bet that product meeting went something like this..
Some guy - we need to make a product that we don't have and is unique, something people would want.
Haley - I don't care what you decide, I'll just make an overly long video about the product and how it's great, Because I said so.

Some guy - but let's take normal sights, cut them at a slant and add serrations.
