Is there any recoil difference between the 4” and 2.75”?

I have shot them side by side with the same ammo and my perception is that the 4.25" recoils slightly more than the 2.75". I attribute this to 100 fps +- more velocity of the longer bbl offsetting the 2 oz lighter weight of the shortie.

The short barrel 69 looks like it would make a great fanny pack revolver. Here is mine -- I managed to fit L frame grips on it.

I'm a sucker for these light weight short barreled handguns

    Here are two more

    2.5" S&W M329

and a 2.5" Taurus Titanium Tracker in .41 mag (Grizly 250gr WFN go 1,150 fps from this little fire breather).

If I'm just shooting poofter loads (think Russian in a .44 Special case) for plinking fun and the Skeeter load as my top end, am I really giving up any significant performance with the shorter barrel?

I, too, have a 5" 629 Classic (full lug) that is surprisingly accurate. When used to hunt boar(s) I'd carry it in a Bruce Nelson chest rig. Craig Spegel made a set of boot grips for the gun. It was one of those times when everything simply came together in a deeply satisfying way. Don't shoot it much anymore, but sometimes I sit and caress it and just remember.

That looks more like a 329 Nightguard than a Model 69--Which would explain the less-than-perfect fit of the Hogue Bantam Grips--'Course, I've been wrong before--Just ask my WIFE!

It is a 329, sorry for my clunky writing -- needed a new paragraph.

No idea. The only .44 Special launcher I have is a 5.5” Ruger Bisley Blackhawk.
