HK P30SK - Clipping Aftermarket Mainspring to Size

There is no lighter aftermarket mainspring for the HK P30sk to bring down the trigger weight. I have read you can get a lighter aftermarket HK P30 mainspring and cut to the same size as the stock HK P30sk mainspring though a veteran at HKPro forum has repeatedly says he doesn't recommend it on a carry gun but didn't say why.

Is this a bad idea for a carry gun or is it fine? Already put in the nickel plated sear spring and the lighter firing block spring. Would be nice to drop trigger weight a pound or two without sending off for a $275+ trigger job.

    I assume your gun is a V3?

There is no way in hell I would sacrifice reliability for a lighter trigger pull by trimming down a larger mainspring. Can it be done......sure. On a carry gun I think it is unnecessary and I would not want to take chances with reliability.

My P30sk V1 has the best trigger of all of my hammer fired HK’s. YMMV.
