I don't know, should I get a Ford, Chevy or Dodge?

There isn't one answer, that's why they're all manufactured and commercially succesful. Ideally you'd be able to take a class with a rental or borrowed gun, then using your knowledge from the class (especially since most people have a poor grip before instruction) you would rent each gun and put 100 rounds through them and make a decision on what you like best.

Barring that, pick one, any one - get some qualtiy instruction, shoot the snot out of it, and be happy.

ETA - I'd get a Glock, but I like Glocks

What are you going to use it for?

What is your prior pistol experinence?

If you are planning to carry the gun, where are you wanting to carry it on your body?

    Gen 3 G17.
If you were planning to carry it concealed then I might recommend a Gen3 G19.

The Gen4's appear to still have issues and are less reliable than the Gen3's.
