    I may be mistaken but I had the sense a lot of .44 mag factory 240 had been loaded a bit slower than that over the years. 1300 fps from that barrel length seems pretty strong. Helluva deer hammer.

    Useful for those who have concluded that the major determinants of effectiveness are (a) penetration and (b) expansion. Given that, at least three 9mm loads approximate the .44 Mag.
