4 Ways You Can Always Be Learning

I read this blog post by Molly Herber in my news feed from the National Outdoor Leadership School, and thought it might be interesting to the training community here:

    https://blog.nols.edu/2017/03/16/4-w...ys-be-learning

It can be hard to find time for ongoing training, but you'll never regret spending more time learning. I learned from the seminar that ongoing training is a rich way to keep growing, even for folks who had been climbing for years...

I found it a good review of a few ideas for keeping your training at the forefront, so you can "always be learning", as she says.

No wonder I'm so smart. I graduated from the five week NOLS Wind River Mountaineering Course during the summer of 1974.

(It was a great way to put four years of bad habits learned in college behind me. Well, some of 'em anyway. )

Have no fear on that count. It's a wonder that I have survived this long.

    Be humble.

    Be open.

    Think twice, talk once.

Always bring treats for the other kids.

Those were the four ways I was taught.

You're never too old to learn something new.
    Knowledge is its own reward.
The world around us is filled with wonder...from the micro to the macro.
Sharing what we have learned with others is a gift we give ourselves.
There's nothing civil about this war.
