Thread: P225-A1

I handled one, and it got my attention for sure. Not sure if I'm going to pick one up or not, but I think it'll be a great shooter. IT feels like Sig's answer to the HK P7M8 in my mind. I think sure it's kinda larger, but not huge, and for a single stack it feels great. It's like a Legion, but not. The video below is the best IMO on the topic.

the p239 or p225 seems like a good option for an easy to carry, easy to shoot, and safe appendix carry option.

Practically, if you can carry this, you can carry a Glock 19, but in your case the capacity doesn't matter much. I think it carries just a bit better than the Glock 19 as the slightly thinner and more rounded butt tends to make less of a shelf for a shirt to hang up on.

I think it's one of the best Sig values for a new gun because it is essentially a Legion without the Legion non-sense on it. SRT, undercut trigger guard, and G10 grips. I've ended up with 8 magazines and they all work well. The thin mags are easy to conceal, but I did sand down the base plate edges off the mag I carry because they were too sharp and dug into me when I wear it without an undershirt.

It is a bit big and heavy for what it is, but that makes a quick full grip easy and the gun pleasant to shoot. I shoot is as well as I shot my 229. Since it's my only DA/SA 9mm it's nice that I can compete with it, carry it, and practice with it and it's a gun that doesn't feel like a compromise (again, capacity aside).

ETA: The front sight is recessed down into the slide a bit making some fiber optic sights (I tried the ones from Sig) unable to fit. I'm okay with the stock tritium sights for now. Would like a #6 front X-RAY, but they only sell sets for now.
It does have the SRT? Looking over the specs on Sig's website, I don't see that mentioned.

Edit:Just watched the vid. Apparently so.

Yeah, Sig doesn't seem to list it anymore, but I'm pretty sure they used to. I couldn't tell you from looking at it but the reset is very short it seems.

Either way I wouldn't notice, I don't shoot to reset.

Just finding this thread...don't ask me why. This seems like a viable gun for us here in the ban states limited to 10 round magazines. Anyone carrying this AIWB?
Look! Just because we're bereaved, that doesn't make us saps!

this or a p239 seems hard to beat for an armed citizen regardless... I really am trying to do the whole g19 thing but something about a single stack da/sa peaks my interest.

This is is the gun I'd carry if I was still living in CT.

Living in a 15rd cap state I am happy with the G19.

Absolutely, at least 20 more years here and I highly doubt we'll see the magazine limit lifted anytime soon.....again I just found this pistol why?

Doesn't seem like it's being pushed that hard.
