Thread: Does a P2000sk fit in a P2000 holster, and mag questions.

Does a P2000sk fit in a P2000 holster, and mag questions.

    Does a P2000sk fit in a P2000 holster?

When using P2000 mags in an sk, and/or P30 mags in a P2000, is there any over travel stop, or is the mag going to stop on the ejector or hit anything that it could potentially damage?

Basically, anything I should consider before carrying a longer mag for a spare with a shorter gun?

An SK wil not fit most kydex holsters for p2000 because sk has sloped front to trigger guard and p2000 has a squared front. Leather holsters may fit.

No overtravel stop, unless using xgrips, but one should not be slamming mags into a pistol hard anyway.

I've not had problems using my P30 holsters for P2000sk despite different trigger guards profiles. I presume that different holsters will behave differently.

    Thanks for the input.
My experience is based on using a CCC Shaggy for a P30, which fits P2000 fine, but will not accommodate an SK. You are right, different holsters retain differently.
I am interested to find out--which P30 holsters do work with an SK?

The X Grips have been mentioned, but one thing about using a longer (P30/VP9) mag in a shorter gun (P30SK, in my case) I did not expect, was how uncomfortable shooting the longer mag was without a spacer.

Inserting a VP9 mag into my P30SK and establishing my normal (fairly hard) grip bore down on my pinky much more painfully than I would have thought. It was no big deal, as since I now use the appropriate X grip spacer for either my VP9 (15) or USPc (13) round mags.

YMMV, but it might be something you find, or not, depending on your hand size (I wear Medium gloves.)

The Keeper and JMCK George are perfect. SME is OK. You know what's funny though: I can stick it into my P30 Shaggy and it seems OK too. Not as good as a dedicated SK Shaggy but feels usable to me. Maybe check yours one more time?

Both my Blackhawk SERPA and my Safariland GLS holsters work with either.

My sk fits perfectly in either my P2000 Keepers or DSG Orion.

Ya so this is wrong... my 2000sk fit every holder I had for a p2000

Well... That depends. Just a small amount of tolerance variance towards tight on a kydex holster could well tip the scale to not fitting correctly.

Most good kydex operations can accommodate a holster that will fit both a p2000 and an SK if you let them know up front. It is a simple matter of adjusting one point of blocking. I'm sure some manufacturers just have their molds set up to do this as a matter of course because so many serious users have a gun "family."
