    Arizona tourism

We've hit the Grand Canyon and are currently holed up in Sedona as a rainstorm passes. I think we're going to do an ATV rental tomorrow and then start toward Phoenix. Anything family friendly we shouldn't miss before heading back up to Vegas?

Staying in Prescott tomorrow, holy crap, PHX hotels that aren't swimming in roaches and/or thugs are expensive.

Get your Aura read by a medium in Sedona.

Kidding. Sedona is a neat place. We had lunch and wandered some of the shops, so I don't have much info.

    Enjoy!

A nice combination in Mesa, is a hike at Usery Park and a visit to the Rio Salado range.

    I grew up in Sedona...

If not too late I'd check out a restaurant called the Hideaway.

    Then do some hiking.

In Prescott visit Whiskey Row and the Courthouse. The Courthouse is in the main square and Whiskey Row is right across the street.
I'd be remiss not to mention J&G Guns

Driving south to Phoenix on the 17 look for the Mountezuma Castle National Park if you want to see a cliff dwelling. If you're in Arizona it's mandatory to see at least one.

In Phoenix there's the Heard Museum for American Indian art and history

If you take GJMs advice for a hike in Usery Mountain PM me and I'll meet you. I'm riding the trails there 2-3 times a week. Great views of the Superstition Mountains i.e. the Lost Dutchman gold mine.

If you're in the East Valley the Mining Camp restaurant is fun to visit. It's close to the Superstitions.

This is the first year we haven't been in Sedona in March in like 12. We miss it, enjoy the area. I like what yotesfan likes. I also like the West Fork hike for a family.

Might consider a RZR instead of an ATV. Was crazy fun!

AZ is Gorgeous right now. Our favorite place in Prescott is the Watson lake overview. There is a great trail system that is easily accessed and the North Shore trail is memorable and pretty short.

I would be happy to guide you as I am off this afternoon.

Link where you can find map download.

    Trail I recommend.

    Map to trail I recommend:

    Just do Northshore.

A lot of great places already listed here. Depending on how for south you want to go, Kartchner Caverns near Benson is a must do. Probably too late now, but driving from Sedona to Prescott if you take highway 89A over Mingus Mountain you will pass through the town of Jerome. It’s a cool and quirky former mining town that still has a couple of working mines and has become a kind of artist colony. Great views of the Verde Valley as well. Also, a hike around Thumb Butte in Prescott is worth your time.

Damn I miss living in Prescott. Still get out there every couple of years but never get to spend enough time there.
