So a guy runs from state patrol, and my Sheriff happened to plow over the guy after he takes off on foot.
Not going to lie, I laughed a bit at the universe's sense of humor.

That's awesome, they should deputize his car for being on the ball.

Sheriff Jolley and his wife were not hurt in what Holloway calls a “freak accident.”
Yep, the freak just ran right in front of him.
HCountyGuy, please pass on my thanks and good wishes to your Sheriff.

That's almost what happened to a friend of mine. He was working patrol and responded out of his area to help try to apprehend sumdude who was on the run from other units. He was driving down the street and the dude ran out and into the side of his cruiser, which pretty much knocked dude the fuck out. It was hilarious, as in pee yourself hilarious.

Beware of my temper, and the dog that I've found...
That trooper must not have received Obama's executive order that criminals are allowed to escape without police pursuit.
I hope our new national sheriff fixes the anti-cop sentiment that has infected the brains of low density Americans.
I had it happen to me once. I was running hot to set up a perimeter from a guy who'd fled other officers and he bolted out in front of me like a deer. That one wasn't fatal, but I sure thought it was going to be when I hit him. I just knocked him out of his shoes and he ran for a little while more barefoot before we caught him trying to get through a privacy fence. I think I put the story in Roll Call stories already, but that's the highlights.
