Independence Aluminum Cased 9mm - Popped Primer

MIDWAY is running a deal right now with aggressive pricing on the Independence Aluminum 9mm. Are there multiple reports on PF about this ammo or is this an isolated case?

I shot several hundred rounds of this stuff a few Fridays ago, and had no issues. 400 more rounds will be going downrange Friday evening. If this stuff is GTG, I might take advantage of the Midway deal.

It's all part of Vista Outdoors. I've always assumed that stuff is identical to Blazer aluminum case, except for the head stamp. Can't think of any technical reason it wouldn't be. It's hard to compare specs, though. I've bounced off trying to find specs on Independence stuff before. It's marketed like Beer brand beer.

I've shot a bunch of the independence Aluminum (over 1 k ) and this was my first and only problem.

My understanding is independence is ammo made by subcontractors or with sub contracted components, usually foreign.

This is what I'm shooting now, no problems so far.

Two more issues wil Independence Aluminium 9mm today, both failures to extract. One with a Gen4 G17 MOS and one with a G35 with a KKM conversion barrel.

And not every handgun will have bullet setback problems.
