Regardless of the immigration issue or the causation/correlation fallacy that much of this discussion can be distilled down to, why wouldn't any country be interested in making sure they're allowing/inviting the very best people into their community? As a nation, we are a business. A business has boundaries, expectations that are written down regarding our behavior and our responsibilities, so why would 'you' let anyone in to your space, house, business, family, circle of friends, etc without vetting them vigorously?
