Yeah, most of them are. It shouldn't be to much of a problem. Just another hoop we gotta jump through. But at least we're keeping the rifles, that was the biggest thing. Yeah that's pretty much what their wanting us to do.

When we first implemented our patrol rifle program ten years ago we had something along the lines of "Officers should know that the public display of patrol rifles may cause shock and possible panic amongst the public" in our policy...
That bs is on its way out, thank Christ. We're changing it to "an officer is justified in deploying the patrol rifle when (s)he feels it reasonable that superior accuracy may be warranted."
I'm glad your guys still have them available. Things will eventually reach the proper equilibrium, either through a leadership change or a mindset change. You did an awesome job going to bat for your people, that's something you should take pride in.
