I'm pleased to be rid of an unproud first lady as well.

    Well said.

With regards to the protesters, I'm hard pressed to believe that any of them ever saw the inside of a voting booth, nor do they ever set an alarm on their phones to get up for work.

James Mattis is SECWAR. And I'm thrilled that he's in charge.

Here's his initial message to the force:

I can't wait to see what he's going to do!

At some point, Mr. Trump will leave office and we'll need to provide a replacement. We could do far worse than Secretary Mattis.

He must have a strong grip.

On the other hand, I would guess his actual grip on the AR/MP5/Bazooka inside his trench coat is good to go.

I'm pretty sure that's one of the Observers from Fringe.

I watched a great deal of the inauguration activities. I caught the swearing in speech on the radio. I think the text of the speech was good -- the delivery was not great, and might have been impacted by the circumstances, so minus some style points.

I really wasn't a Trump supporter - I voted for him -- and was elated that he won. I certainly am much more optimistic now than I would be if Hillary Clinton had won.
I thought his conduct through the day, particularly at the military ball and at the congressional luncheon, was gracious and fitting for the office.

Even if he is not cool, he does seem to have a real ability to connect with people:

You can see him move the thumb about 0:18 or so in but it still appears artificial.
