After looking at a couple of videos I think I'm going to go with the EDC Ready Pack that was recommended here.

On another note, John Lovell has a 20% discount code for VertX. Not sure if I should post it or not as I'm not sure if he gets a kickback for it.

I highly recommend the Vertx sling bags. I carry the Commuter daily, but the new Transit is a bit smaller. Great thing about the sling bags is the one diagonal carry strap rather than the conventional two parallel straps on most backpacks. I find this design to be easy to manage, quick on, quick off, and comfortable; don’t need 2 straps as there is no real load-bearing. A bonus is quick access to a firearm; if you choose to carry one in the bag, it’s easy to spin the bag on the single strap, and access to the pistol compartment is fast.

I'm considering this bag as well. If you have the time, I'd love to see a brief review as well as how well this bag works for what you like to carry.

I'll go through my old one when I swap the contents over, but some things I know are always in it off the top of my head.

    • underwear
    • towel
    • sunscrean
    • bug spray
    • external battery

I’ll be surprised if you don’t like the EDC Rob, mind posting a pic of the mini organizer after you load it?

Well, first concern... as I suspected, this bitch is heavy, and I attribute that largely to (a) the gun pouch I will rarely use and (b) some parts that are over-beefy.

The idea with the small ouch is to treat it as NPE pouch I can quickly remove to fly, go to Disney, etc.

I stuck all the rain gear in this mesh pocket inside the main pouch. I don’t think that will work really since it’s usually something we want to access quickly.

I just got a smoking deal on a Vertx EDC ready bag and my first impression is very favorable. It's well thought out, comfortable and a good size.
