Scootered and walked all around St Augustine yesterday. This thing is totally a winner so far!

Might could do with an armpit strap in some instances but I’m learning to predict and pre-empt the slide when carrying it.

After a few hours hiking this past week, and several more hours ahead of me, I’m back on the hunt for a new backpack. Basic criteria...
    • Under 2 lbs empty
    • External water bottle sleeve(s)
    • Small, externally accessible, pouch (sunglasses, phone, meds)
    • At least some amount of internal compartmentalization (preferably without having to add additional parts)
    • Good airflow in the back (new requirement from this week)
    • No external mole or other tactical indicators
    • detachable/storable waist belt (if it has one at all)

You didn't mention capacity, but anticipating multi-use. Mystery Ranch Scree immediately comes to mind. 32L, packs a little bigger and carries a little smaller depending on you. Just a little over 2lb, but you could make that up. Non-mil look, several color options available. Great bag.

I've looked at these before and that y-front is kind of hard to wrap my head around.

re: capacity I'm hoping for 30L max.

I'll have to watch some vids on it.

If @rob_s ever finds *the* bag, we should all get one, because it will be awesome.

From Older Offspring after a discussion of coffee:

"If it doesn't come from the Kaffa province of Ethiopia, it's just hot roasted-bean juice."

The Y front is great, easy to use. Need a top opening bag? got it. Need a front opening bag? got it. Need a clamshell opening bag? got it. I had one and wish I had kept it(I always have too many bags).

That would be too small for me, but I'd expect the same functionality and quality.

this thing doesn't tik all the boxes, but it does check off a lot of them. I wish the front panel was slightly more divided up, and there's no sunglasses pocket but there is a (perhaps bit too large) quick access pocket in the very front with a vertical zipper.
