tried to install apex j-frame kit...spring went flying...help

While disassembling my S&W 642 to install the apex carry kit, a small spring went flying and of course is nowhere to be found. It happened after I took the hammer out. I think it is the sear spring, but not sure. A cursory google search shows it as S&W PN 215770000, but looks out of stock everywhere. Anybody know where I can get a replacement?

It's the spring that fits in between the hammer and sear

    Did you check eGunpartsCorp?

I may have a used one, but it'll be for a M-36. I don't know if the springs are the same.

    Very commnon.

You might try Jack First, 605-343-8481.

When you get it, try this install trick: Set the spring in the sear, compress it, put a piece of scotch or other thin tape over it. Put the sear in the hammer and pin it, then carefully remove the tape. The tip of a paperclip or something similarly thin can help if the tape is sticky or the spring starts to pull free or bend.
