Nice test with an interesting result. I wonder what would happen with four layers of denim? Maybe a bit more expansion?

In any case, I'm going to have to add this round to my "bullets definitely not to be shot with" list.

Denim shouldn't have any effect on expansion of a soft point.

I'm not in any way knowledgeable enough these matters but what would be wrong with this load for bear with its impressive penetration? You mentioned not necessarily good for bigger game, we're you talking about deer etc.?

I apologize. That's not exactly what I meant. I think it would be a decent load for large animal defense. I meant that it didn't work as designed. A heavier wad cutter might be even better for large animal defense, but I'm no expert either.
