Thread: Stupid Criminal Tricks

A friend described an old building with a vault door prominently labeled "War Gas."
No indication of what it really was and I don't know how they disposed of it when the demolished the place, but it would sure warn me off from trying to crack it.

I found an old NY Times article about a bank that supposedly used mustard gas.

This was in a Sacramento paper in 1921:

If we have to march off into the next world, let us walk there on the bodies of our enemies.

I can't imagine anyone doing that today.
Someone brought the vials to an old safe to the PD range a few years back, wanting them destroyed. I’d never heard of such a thing before or since.

There was once a tear gas burglar repellent.
Meant for buildings out of reach of response to a burglar alarm, like a hunting or fishing cabin.
So you could head out for a vacation in the country, find the door forced, and the stink of tear gas. I guess you would have to pitch a tent while you aired the place out.

Some dude attempted to rob a bank from the back of a cab.

    The attempt failed.

Previous record not mentioned. I wonder if he just got homesick?
