I think he meant the barrel looked bent, at least it does to me. May be camera angle.

The pin. If it came out easily by itself, removing it, laying it on a flat hard surface, and giving it a tap or two with a cold chisel will burr it a little and help keep it from coming out again. Burring it in a spot where its in the barrel instead of where it holds the cylinder lock may be best.

If it happens again it will go back to Smith and Wesson.

Lock tite would probably suffice. I'd try that before pounding on the pin.
The first indication a bad guy should have that I'm dangerous is when his
disembodied soul is looking down at his own corpse wondering what happened.

No sarcasm intended, but I would definitely send it back. As LSP 972 & Malamute indicated, barrel looks canted (maybe photo). Also, the gap between cylinder and crane looks like a reasonably svelte weasel could slide in there. You might get a new gun with better fitting. Add in the cylinder release issue, and I would call for an RMA.

Sadly, you simply cannot depend on an properly assembled gun these days. Looks like that is what you have, and it certainly does need to go back to the factory. Sorry.

It was an oh-by-the-way at the end of a photo shoot last weekend, when I found out that the model likes guns. Unfortunately, I probably can't show you the uncropped ones on this site.
