We seriously need some guys like Finn Aagaard and Elmer Keith (Keith was semi illiterate, but he made up for it with mountains of experience). Aagaard was exceptional. In a typical year he did more than most "gun writers" of today do in a lifetime.

I have 2 Pt 111 G2's, one is unfired, the other one has passed 1000 rounds with one jam, on the 3rd shot out of the box. Since then, it's eaten anything and everything. I've added a fiber optic front site to both guns and the Lakeline LLC steel guide rod/spring assembly just because I'm paranoid about the plastic one breaking. I got one for the new gun too a few days ago, and it will probably go in before that gun is ever fired.
