My wife's competition 9mm 1911 is back at Springfield for some work. She practiced for the first time with her backup and the additional drag coming out of the BladeTech holster is very significant. I tried my backup and found the same thing; really changes the timing of the draw. Our SS 1911s have seen 50K rounds each and are burnished, but I'm still surprised at the difference. Just another one of those lessons learned. Easy enough to loosen up the holster slightly, but might not occur to me in the middle of a steel challenge stage.

Best to occasionally practice with the backup.
