Thread: CCW Lights/Lasers

    CCW Lights/Lasers

I searched but didn't really find anything newer than threads from 2014.

    1. If CCWing (AIWB), is it preferable to have a laser, light or both?
    2. Would it be useful to have one that can be turned on easily like a Surefire DG, CT Lasergrips or Viridian ECR?

The consensus from the older threads I read was that a laser was a must and light wasn't really needed. To me, that for CCW, you would want the smallest laser/light combo that you could turn on easily.

The Surefires can be turned on easily but aren't small. The CT Lasergrips can be turned on easily but lack a light while their rail options (CMR-204) can't be turned on easily. The Viridian ECR options seems like the best balance of the bunch. Does anyone know of a good, small, easily activated solution? At this point, it seems like I should get the ECR kit and have Tony make me a AIWB holster for my PX4.

Lasers and lights perform two completely different functions.

What CCW gun are you running? That will narrow your options.

Viridian is not a good option and I'd stay away.

Only real game on town is surefire and streamlight.

    I have a streamlight tlr2hlg and it's good.

I tried aiwb it a bunch of times in an MTG holster. it's not comfortable.

Can you expand on "Viridian is not a good option..." ? Not challenging the opinion at all, just don't have experience in the realm of lasers / combos and wanted to know what to look for. What goes wrong with the Viridians?

    That's my review.

Lots of serious issues the company won't fix.

The plastic parts are the killer here.

What threads were those?? The only time I've seen lasers even coming close to being recommended for anything on this forum was specifically for J-Frames.
