I'd be interested if they didn't make it with a two piece barrel. The extra .25" tells me it is.

Both of these would be cool. Dig my 4.25 69. Not sure I can justify a second one, but will commence lusting...

I'd really only be interested if it's got the full length ejector. Looking at pics of the 3", I think they could do it.

If they bring out a 2.75" 69 I'll buy one of each.*

Guess I should start adding to the piggy bank. This may be super cool.
While my first preference would be for a 3" barrel, making it close to a modern 696 but with a beefier forcing cone and the ability to run magnums, I would not let .25 dissuade me from what would probably be a great carry revolver.

Um, yes please!
If a snubby 69 and/or 66 comes out I'll be needing one or two of each.

I found a web page for both of these models on a website. No photos yet. The only info for each model is pasted below:
- Smith & Wesson 66 Revolver Double Action Medium 357 Mag 2.75 Stainless Stainless Rubber 6Rd Red Ramp/White Outline 10061
- Smith & Wesson 69 Revolver Double Action Medium 44 Mag 2.75 Stainless Stainless Rubber 5Rd Red Ramp/White Outline 10064
Both pages show MSRP of $849.99, and actual price of $734.99.
I've been reading a lot of good reports on the new-ish 4.25 inch barrel Model 66. It's got the 2-piece barrel, but that allowed enough room to beef up the forcing cone, with no more flat-edge on the bottom. A number of reviews I've read have reported it's a stronger system than the older k-frames, and can handle full power magnum ammo.
The net effect to me is a K-frame with less than 4 inch barrel that (probably) has a full length ejector rod, adjustable sights and 125 grain 357 mag ammo. I have a Model 65LS with 2-piece barrel that is much more accurate than me. If S&W follows through on this, my 65LS is about to gain a buddy.
