Thread: I miss music like this

Dr. Hook and the Medicine Show remains one of my all time favorite bands. Known for their saucy lyrics, their genuine talent is often over looked.

I spent an hour yesterday talking to the last surviving member of this band, who is still a working musician and a client of mine...
He's a friendly, gracious man, and a fabulous pop musician. They were favorites when I was a kid, and I at first mistook them for The Beatles when hearing them on the radio. Hey, I was seven.

What a sad story surrounds these guys, and yet their music brings a lot of joy.

Not old music, but an "old" style. Couldn't resist for Valentine's day.

Sarah Brightman & Andrea Bocelli - Time to Say Goodbye (1997)

Tracy Chapman's first great performance: Talkin' About A Revolution (Nelson Mandela 70th Birthday Tribute Concert, 1988, Wembley Stadium, London)

    Kate Bush - Cloudbusting (1985)

    PS:
I've just noticed: Then which birthday of Nelson Mandela is this year?!

The more I watch and listen to this guy, the more I am amazed.

Just released. Bettye LaVette covering Dylan, with a nice gritty guitar.
