    M&P 2.0 holster compatibility

Does anyone know if the new m&p is compatible with the first gen m&p holsters? I've been looking around and noticed no one makes a 2.0 specific holster which leads me to believe that they are compatible. Just curious if anyone has any experience with the new guns and old m&p holsters. Thanks

My 2.0 fits perfectly in my JMCK holsters that were made for the original model.

There is an issue with it passing the duty rating test on the Safariland Als holsters. It can come out when doing that test. We pulled on it pretty good in our ALS 6377 plain clothes holsterin our armorers class but didntpop out. Other than that no issues.

The 2.0 fits perfectly in my Mastermind Tactics AIWB, Comp-Tac International (both kydex), and Safariland 6360 duty holster. All of those holsters were for the original M&P.

The top contouring on the slide varies from the 1.0 and the 2.0 9/40 vary from each other as well.

The difference in slide profile can be seen here. In almost all cases there won't be anything noticed but long term wear and some potential opening of the holster will occur.

Looks like(from the above pics) that the slide is milled lighter(deeper cut profile) on the 9mm.

Any chance this will help the timing issues on the factory 9fs?

I sure do love when the gun mfgs. make milling changes just for the sake of change!
