Last time I checked, Rorhbaugh was recommending changing the recoil springs on their 9mm pistols every 100 rounds.
With the tiny .380's, we are shooting something of a size that was only available in .22 or .25 not too long ago. There isn't much slide mass to slow things down, so the spring will have to carry more of the load. My P3AT springs look pretty mangled after a surprisingly small number of rounds. For what springs cost, I would rather not take any chances of the gun not working right when I need it most.

I think the LCP Custom is the right decision--a pocket pistol with real sights. I wish that it had a tritium front sight vs. the luminescent "charge with a flashlight" thing it came with, but definitely a pistol that fights above its weight either way. I picked up two and have been super happy with it as a gun that I carry when I'm not carrying a gun.
G42. Not a true pocket handgun, but easy to shoot on demand, distance shots also possible, easy to clear malfunctions, couldn't fault it. Can't say the same for the LCP I tried.

I was curious about the recoil spring change interval for the LCP so I asked Ruger and Wolff. These were their responses:
Ruger - "Some people like to change out the recoil spring at around 1000 rounds or so."
Wolff - "For your application, approximately 2000 rounds."
