Beretta APX

Their website is definitely wonky. The link I posted before goes to a no longer in production page, yet I can navigate their site and get to HD and HD XR sights for APX's.

The only reason I knew they were there is back in the summer I was trying to get some HD's for one of my 92's and ordered the APX version by accident. They did arrive and the package said for APX.

Thanks for that clarification. When I look at Beretta HDs, nothing comes up. My eyes have gotton to the point that if Ameriglo ProGlos or Trij HDs aren’t available, then a pistol isn’t a serious candidate for carry. I’m kinda intrigued by the APX, which is why I was asking.

Agreed! I snagged a no finger groove frame a while back because I love grey. Now that Beretta has a $50 rebate for APX’s bought before December 31st I’ll likely get one this month.

If you're going to get an APX, here are some upgrades I strongly recommend:

I emailed Dawson Precision and asked if they had plans to produce sights for the APX. They said not at this time but would forward my email to their Product Board for review and consideration. It wouldn’t hurt if they received a few more emails asking Dawson to start producing APX sights.

Handled an APX Centurion and Compact at the LGS last night and liked it a lot, however, compared to Glocks, the slide and magazine release seemed quite stiff. How have those worn in for you over time? Have you noticed those parts smoothing out?

Is there an extended slide stop/release for the APX Compact? I've done some searching and haven't found anything.

I don't know of an extended slide stop, but honestly, I haven't felt a need for it at all during my testing.

As for the "stiffness," the slide will loosen up over time just as any other spring-based mechanism, and the magazine release probably will too, but I didn't notice it being very stiff at first to begin with, so I wasn't paying attention to that.

The APX has arrived! Hoping to shoot it this weekend. Presuming I like it enough to give it a permanent spot in the safe, I'll want to install either Trijicon HD orange, or Ameriglo Spartan orange sights. I just searched and the Beretta sight tool is $550!! The gun was $365... no way I'm going to spend that... are there other tools that work well? I saw some generic ones on Amazon. If not, is there someone who is fast and charges a reasonable amount like the Devil Dog who works on HK's?
