    Help me mount a light and aim point to M1A

    Right now it's straight off the factory floor, black, plastic and irons

    Get the Ultimak rail and just copy what the Marlin guys are doing with their 336's. Or I think the Ultimak might have provisions for optional side rails at 45 degrees to the main top rail for the light.

    You can use taller / off set light mounts mounted to the top rail like they do off Ultimak AK rails.

    Has anyone come up with a decent method of using a LPV in a manner which doesn't obscure the factory irons?

    I used to build M14s - at one point I had half a dozen - but I got tired of the optics mounting issue.
    This is a thread where I built a boat I designed and which I very occasionally update with accounts of using it, which is really fun as long as I'm not driving over logs and blowing up the outboard.
