I didn't realize that national eyes are on this guy so much. As a local, and one who's on a first name basis with some of the folks involved in jettisoning this guy, I know how he's regarded here, but I'm surprised to see your post. Surprised at the post itself, not the contents, that is.

I used "fire Frank Straub" as "carthago delenda est" at my blog for a while.

ETA: Although I remember this incident from early in his brief tenure as being pretty droll...

    Books. Bikes. Boomsticks.

I can explain it to you. I can’t understand it for you.

Whoa. I never put 2 and 2 together before. I remember reading this guy's background way back when he first got hired here, but forgot it all in the interim between then and his final bouts of asshattery out this way.

On edit: BBI, I hope we can have a beer together someday, for a variety of reasons.

Moving on, this is one of my least favorite things of all: guys (and gals) like this who get kicked down the road over and over again just to become someone else's issue. It's like Administrative Syphilis.

And our Mayor can F right off on this. He recently inherited a bunch of dough, so he can F off somewhere, and when he gets there, he can F off some more from there to somewhere even further.

Whew. OK, I'm done. Back to ogling 4" revolvers, or something. Carry on.

Director of Strategic Studies? The great mind of Frank Straub?

Is his office a dark closet and an Etch A Sketch as a computer?

    I am so stealing that.
Or maybe turning it into "Administrative herpes", and claiming it as my own. So to speak.

I was thinking maybe Gil Kerlikowske, formerly Seattle Chief of Police, who had his Glock 26 stolen from his city car while shopping. Forgot Straub was in Spokandyland.

And here is the title of one of the studies promoted by this guys new org: Promoting Officer Integrity Through Early Engagement and Procedural Justice

I'm sure there is a good deal of criminology and psychology related science involved in law enforcement, but even reading a description of the study on the website it sounds like BS. If it's DC-based it's politically-driven.
