    Mounting sling to 1895

Trying to make a decision on how to mount a sling to my Winchester 1895 repro. The only options I am seeing are either a barrel band or having a dovetail milled on the barrel. There isn't anyway this is going to attach to the fore-end.

    Thoughts? Past experiences?

I'm open to any and all advice at this point.

    Vincent,
Go to the Shiloh Sharps site and look for their sling that attaches to buttstock and barrel. No swivels necessary.
I have one on my Browning 95 replica and it works really well.
If I can figure out how to post a picture I will do that.

The old original ones had the sling mount attached to the barrel with either a dovetailed block with ring or a base with ring sweated on. If looking for non traditional means, a band would work.

Would one of the wire loop items work for your application?

Or the Proctor WOTG sling for a cheap, simple solution.

Just got my Proctor sling today.
It will work just fine on most lever guns and is going on my 1925 94 SRC.
    Thanks for the suggestion.
