I can't comment beyond the news article. Officers will recover.

    THE WAR ON COPS

Here is a shocking take on what one law enforcement officer perceives as "the war on cops" currently taking place:

Current events seem to support that premise. I'm concerned that media coverage is so one sided that it only fuels these events, and it's a slippery slope to open warfare against those who are mandated to "protect and serve".

The video posted above is rather disheartening and has made me (a civilian) very concerned for the safety of police officers everywhere. I don't really know what to say about the situation, and am not qualified to pose any solutions.

An armed, law abiding, populace coming to aid officers under fire is probably a non starter, only adding "active shooters" to what would no doubt be a very high stress situation.

I can explain it to you. I can’t understand it for you.

"Yeah, I'm just shot a little."

That some impressive composure. Here's to a quick recovery.

Happy to hear your Officer will be OK and that the "threat was neutralized". It goes without saying that all of our LEOs are in our thoughts.

I'm glad the Officer wasn't seriously injured and wish him a swift recovery.

Can you comment as to whether or not the suspect was just turning his life around and on his way to donate toys to an orphanage?

You forgot the all important - he was getting ready to go to college.
