Just another fool without a scale handy. Weights estimated. This is for my off-duty CCW, and only gun stuff....not other items I carry as well. I carry this everyday (when not working) generally without exception.

    SIG P229r: 32oz.

Two full mags (1 in gun, 1 on belt): 9oz (?) Each, so 18oz.

No idea on the CC mag carrier and Gestalt. I'm guessing 4oz total?

    So that's 54oz total.

I'm not trying to be funny, but with today's digital bathroom scales, you can get a reasonably accurate weight of a small item. Step on scale, note reading #1. Pick up carry rig, note reading #2. Subtract #1 from #2, and should have what your carry rig weighs, more or less. We weigh the dog this way.

    Thanks, keep the data coming.

I'll try and whip up a graph here tomorrow of the initial batch of numbers.

    I think I'll do a scatter diagram of weight(s) (Y) against round count (X).

I do not own a bathroom scale, hence the math.

edit: and my powder scale only goes to 100 grains, so...

    ...aaaand another one!

If you have access to a balance scale, a pint of water weighs approximately a pound (1.04 I think it is, don't quote me.)

So, you could balance a plastic bowl on one side, your rig in the other, and pour in water until they balanced.

I confess, I used this technique to get an estimate of the pull weight of my pistol by hanging a gallon jug by a rope over the trigger, and pouring in water until it clicked. A gallon of water weighing 8 or so (8.3?) lbs...

All right, now with actual measurements from a cheap bathroom scale:

Over-prepared to go to the movies: 4.2lbs/67.2oz
    - G17 w/ 18rds Speer Gold Dot 124gr+P, in RCS Eidolon
    - G17 magazine w/ 17rds Speer Gold Dot 124gr+P, in DSG OWB mag pouch
    - Shivworks Clinch Pick, in DSG belt sheath
    - S&W 642 w/ 5rds Speer Gold Dot 135gr+P, in Uncle Mikes #3
    - ASP Key Defender
    - Klarus XT2C
    - SOFTT-W
    - Quikclot Combat Gauze
    - iPhone
    - Keys

    Subtract the loaded J-Frame and it's 3.0lbs/48oz.

My most carried is a 9mm P239 and a reload in JM AIWB gear.

It weights a couple ounces more than the 17K I also carry, but it carries and conceals much better on me.

If not the 239 or 17K, its a 43. Also in JM AIWB stuff.

No scale but G19 15 +1 and a spare mag or for NPEs Glock 43 7 +1 and a 7 round spare. BTW, what's up with people carrying a G19 with only 14 rounds in the mag?
