Anyone ever try a “White Stout”. I had a buddy give me a Brewing request for one. Did some research, found a few recipes. I might give it a go...

    Beer thread

We drank a really special beer tonight at a local pub, Cantillon Gueuze. It’s a Belgian lambic. Very small batch. $11 for a 10oz pour, limit 2 per customer.

Would like to see what you find. Starting up brewing operations here in a month or so.

If you can find it, try the Czech-style Dark Lager from Luce-Line Brewing in Plymouth, MN. They do a very good job.
All Saaz on the hop bill, if I remember correctly.

Lots of tasty looking kits here. Never used them but I’m going to for my next batches.

It was really tasty. Better than anything we drank in Prague. But sadly that's not saying much...

This accompanied a Venison burger with sautéed cremini mushrooms and coarse whole-seed Dijon mustard on marble rye.

It’s an American IPA, well balanced with a strong malt backbone, a modest amount of fruity flavors and scent- primarily pineapple- and enough pine and resinous flavors to keep it from being sweet. Ursa Minor are skilled brewers and it’s worth trying the things they release.

I had this about a month back at a Brewsology event in St Paul, and it was a real standout.
The mouthfeel is rather syrupy, and it’s very warming; the malt is roasted and the flavor unfolds for a while.
Lots of chocolate, fig, and a slight hint of leather, like you’d get in a really good dry French red wine. It’s about as strong as wine, too, so you’d be foolhardy to have more than a few ounces at a time.
