One of the best local brewers; they are consistent and have a distinct smoothness and flavor profile from beer to beer. No weak ones in the whole line.

This one has wheat and oats as well as barley, so has a very soft mouthfeel. Lots of citrus and a bit of pineiness, but overall well balanced. It's about the smoothest take on an IPA that I've had. 33 IBU, 7% ABV.

    Beer Cooler Equipment

So, can beer cooler stuff be in this thread? Is this a technical discussion?

Anyway, I have a little dorm fridge in the basement we keep beer in, but it really isn't big enough. We have shopped for small fridges (that would fit in the spot dedicated to the beer fridge), but never found something we wanted. What I really wanted was a chest freezer, hoping I could get one that could be set to be warm enough to not be a freezer, and last week my wife snagged a 7CuFt one from some online auction place she follows. She got it for $81 and it fits The Spot perfectly!

But, bummer I couldn't manage to set it warm enough without turning it off. I took it apart and ground on the cam that adjusts the thermostat, but gave up on that after I found out there is a gadget for that. If you have been living under a rock like me, it is:

And it seems to be working perfectly:

And considering the product description, I will completely understand when Amazon starts popping up adds pertinent to growing weed...

Panther Cub. Not really a bourbon barrel I enjoyed. The maple syrup comes through too much I think.

I’m not a fan of the whole bourbon barreled staged thing.

I'm a big fan of the bourbon barrel stuff. Just didn't care for that one. Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale is probably my favorite beer.

I don’t think I’ve had one. I’ll find some and try.

I go hot and cold on it depending on the base beer. It can work really well with some (but not, IMO, all) imperial stouts.

I once tried a bourbon barrel aged hard cider at a cidery in Minneapolis and that was just really weird, and to my taste at least, not good. The heavy bourbon barrel flavor dominated the light apple cider flavor, squashed the fruity notes, and basically ruined it for me. Based on my experience with the cider, I would expect not to like it if someone decided to bourbon barrel age a lighter beer. I think in order to stand up to bourbon barrels, the base beer has to be something heavy, thick, and dark with a lot of its own flavor. Your mileage may vary, of course.
