What did you think of the beer? It’s available locally here.
I love the Pelican, and today didn’t disappoint. The beer was great as well. Good with bangers and mash.

It’s one of the few medium-bodied translucent beers that features coffee as an ingredient. It’s pretty nice and highly rated in reviews, but lord knows if I’ll sleep tonight. The Insight folks are good brewers and getting better.

Good Octoberfest from Fredericksburg. Stumbled upon the brewery last year on the day of their Oktoberfest celebration. 3 hour wait for a table so we passed. May try again this year.

After four hours in the sun I stopped at Macayo’s to pick up dinner. The Negra Modelo went down easy while I waited. My favorite Mexican cerveza.

Ellicottville Brewing Company Oktoberfest Lager. Went well with Oktoberfest Weiner schnitzel dinner with potato pancakes and red cabbage, in a old restaurant by a running creek with rapids. Very crowded and the patrons seemed to have enjoyed a few brews from the noise.

I don't know very much about beer, other than I like it every so often, thus I don't try many of these, unknown to me, beers.

    Today was different:

Saint Bernardus Trappist, plus mussels and fries and margherita flatbread.

It may not be a great beer among those of you who really know beer but I found it really tasty.

There’s nothing wrong with your palate- that’s one of the better Belgian Abby style ales (though no longer brewed by Trappist monks).

    Thank you.

As I wrote, I'm not terribly knowledgeable about beers, and the usual around the house were things like Heineken that always had a bitter edge to them. I was surprised by how smooth that trappist (somehow I kinda wish monks still brewed it) was.
