Two Sierra Nevada offerings I hadn't had before:

This checks all the boxes for a nice, light, IPA.

It tastes great... and less filling!

on a lighter note this week

local folks Surly make a few interesting brews. This one is only 4.5 ABV, so definitely not pop-skull. Some of their limited offerings go over 12%.
It has a very pleasant mouthfeel and aftertaste, though. Citra is an intriguing hop.

Barbarian Elixir of the Gods. I got this crowler (take-home can) a few months ago in Boise when we were at Barbarian Brewery. They don't keep forever, so I'm drinking it tonight. This is my favorite American sour red ale. It's as good as almost all the Flemish sours.

Uh, I just read the can. 12% ABV. I will not be operating machinery tonight.

Getting back to the "Narwhal" from Sierra Nevada I mentioned in post #252, it just didn't work for me. It wasn't the ABV which was about 10%, as I've had others stronger, but the flavors were too intense and "in your face" for my liking. A little too forward. I gave the rest of the six pack to my neighbor and he, to my surprise, liked it as he's usually more in the IPA camp.

Anyway...too bad but every now and again we come up on one we don't care for.

Tonight will be Hop Bullet from Sierra Nevada...
