It's been many years since I've had that one; I'll have to try it again soon.
Since last night was hot and humid - 82 F and tornado conditions - we went light and grabbed some JosephBrau Plzn while at Trader Joe's.
It's contract-brewed by Gordon Biersch in San Jose CA. Worked pretty well with the Bratwurst, root vegetables, and green salad we ate for dinner.
It wasn't on the level of Pilsner Urquell, but it was tasty. 5.0 ABV, 32 IBU. (pic from Web)

I haven't had Pilsner Urquell in a few years. I should probably pick some up one of these days.
The Double Bastard and Lucky Bastard are also very good, as memory serves. Course, I was drinking at the time, so sometimes memory doesn't serve. I have a Bastard in the Rye in the fridge right now, but it's well past it's sell by date, and some of them didn't survive. I'll try it soon.
I don't even know if they still make any of those, I've had a few set aside for...entirely too long. It's a sad thing to drain pour a beer cause it went bad. I almost always need a beer to cheer me up.
Long day at work. Enjoyed one of these while tending the grill.
It's pretty good, a little thin so the alcohol level stands out more.
Staying on the Belgian kick. What glass for a Belgian style scotch ale?
Wow, this was delicious. Think a Bellhaven mixed with a good quadruple. Nice toasted malt taste. 10% abv but you don't taste it - at all.
