My original recommendations earlier in this thread still stand. However, of late we've really been enjoying North Coast Brewing--they have a good beer for almost any food we eat:

    Scrimshaw
    Laguna Baja
    Pranqster
    Brother Theolonious
    Old Rasputin
    Old Stock Ale

Ballast Point's "Victory at Sea" is also DELIGHTFUL and highly recommended!
I’ve always thought Old Rasputin was under-rated, especially as you can find it in some chain grocery stores from time to time.

When I got home last night at 9pm after getting the snot beat out of me in the dojo, I discovered that my lovely wife had bought me some Petrus Aged Pale Sour (Belgium, De Brabandere brewery).

I wish. Old Rasputin is one of my go tos for Russian Imperial Stout if I can find it. I’ve never seen it in a chain grocery store.

Petrus is a go-to for me, consistent high quality.

It's at my local Giant Eagle. Unfortunately, the place I used to go, where it was the owner's favorite, and he kept it on a nitro tap year round, is no more.

The local liquor store I used to frequent to get it shut down to open in another location and never reopened.
