I've never been to Texas, though I've flown over it a bunch of times.

Nyeti is nice enough to let me go to his class and Serious Student is nice enough to share a drink with me during that time.

So what are some Texas things that a non-texan should experience?

I am already looking for a proper Stetson and the footwear thread got me thinking bout getting some boots.

What else? Steak for breakfast? Large belt buckle? Start practicing a good southern accent?

I'll stand you lunch if you wind up having time. I'm new here, but I would call Babe's Chicken pretty representative, and there are places where they seem to know how to burn a steak.

There is a profound difference between a southern accent, a Dallas urban accent, and an East Texas (hi, I'm a hick who moved into town after college) accent. You'll hear a lot of interesting variations.

Prepare for diversity and bring adequate hair product; Dallas welcomes you.
