I've read books and articles about Hamer over the years, but there's never been a really competent biography of the man and his times. Recently John Boessenecker has written what I believe is an outstanding biography of Hamer. Most books about Hamer in the past glossed over some of the "rougher" episodes in his long career, but Boessenecker brings out the all too human parts of the life of this towering law enforcement figure of the 20th century. If you aren't familiar with Frank Hamer, or haven't read this book, I'd highly recommend it.
Here's a link to an interview with Boessenecker I ran across on Youtube:https://youtu.be/Cll5kwUq9yI
There are a lot of great photos in the book, including this one of Hamer with Tom Mix:
Mix looks like a movie star, Hamer looks like he means business......

I'd guess the publishers insisted on including "Bonnie & Clyde" in the title to attract the interest of folks not familiar with Hamer or the history of Texas.
