Thanks. The stock ones are chromexcel, these shell were part of a small gmto. I'll get a pic of the shell next to the brown chromexcel tomorrow to give you an idea of what they look like. Once you find your true size, not athletic shoe size, it's relatively easy to get in the ballpark off the bat. Once you get anything on a common last you're likely to be set. There are also some very awesome retailers that will help customers out and take returns if you're on the fence.

Hypothetically speaking and just for research purposes how accurate is sizing on AE? I'm 9.5 sometimes occasionally 10, always wide. Should I go 9.5, EEE ?

9.5 in dress shoes or sneakers? Have you measured on a brannock? I would say the width you need would depend on the last.
